Working with Access Idaho

<< return to Web Application Development

What billing options are available?

Access Idaho does not charge for time and materials when building web applications. Instead, Access Idaho's expenses are recouped by adding convenience fees when citizens use online services. Access Idaho is also charged by its credit card vendor for the processing of funds.

To cover the credit card and convenience fees, there are three billing options available to the agency:

  1. End user pays all fees

The end user pays convenience fee and credit card surcharge in addition to statutory fee and agency administrative fee.
    Example:
    Charge to end user: $10.00 renewal + $1.00 convenience fee + $0.50 credit card surcharge = $11.50
    Charge to agency: $0

  2. End user pays convenience fee only

The end user pays convenience fee in addition to statutory fee and agency administration fee. The agency is invoiced monthly for credit card surcharges.
    Example:
    Charge to end user: $10.00 renewal + $1.00 convenience fee = $11.00
    Charge to agency: ($10.00 renewal x 0.01945 credit card rate) + $0.15 bank fee + $0.10 credit card transaction fee = $0.45

  3. Agency pays all fees

The agency is invoiced monthly for all convenience fee and credit card surcharges.
    Example:
Charge to end user: $10.00 renewal
    Charge to agency: $1.00 convenience fee + ($10.00 renewal x 0.01945 credit card rate) + $0.15 bank fee + $0.10 credit card transaction fee = $1.45
